Ningbo-Zhoushan port opens more yards after covid outbreak

China’s Ningbo-Zhoushan port is opening up more yards and warehouses after a recent Covid outbreak hit Beilun district, Zhoushan city earlier this month.

To maintain container handling and operation, Ningbo-Zhoushan port remained operational after the Covid-outbreak and initially resumed operations at 12 yards outside the port and seven warehouses.

After several days of stable operation for local logistics supply chains, the port is resuming work at another nine warehouses and sixteen stockyards to further improve local container handling efficiency and capacity.

During the first nine months of this year, Ningbo-Zhoushan port posted a container volume of 26.32m teu, an increase of 9.8% year-on-year. The port has newly launched 14 container services this year, running 301 shipping routes in all.
